  • Top Up

    Extend an existing plan

Top Up coverage allows you to purchase coverage for extra days if:

    • You already bought a Multi-Trip Plan from us.
    • You bought a similar product (often called an "annual plan") from another insurer.
    • Or you have coverage through your credit card provider and/or employer.

For example, suppose you bought a Multi-Trip Plan and you purchased a 10-day Annual Multi-Trip Plan. However, during that year, you planned a trip for 15 days. In order to have emergency medical coverage for the whole 15 days, you can purchase a Top Up from us for the extra 5 days of that particular trip.

If you would like to buy this product to add to the coverage on an annual plan from another insurer, or travel insurance provided by your credit card provider, it is your responsibility to confirm that top-up coverage is permitted on your existing plan and any terms and conditions that may apply as a result. The Top Up Plan has all the benefits of the Single-Trip Plan.

  • Visitors to Canada

Make sure your visitors are covered

Do you have visitors coming from another country? If so, they won’t be covered by our government health plans if they require medical attention – and that can result in very high medical bills. You can help them avoid that by suggesting – or protecting them yourself with – a Visitors to Canada Plan. This plan meets the mandatory Super Visa insurance requirements.

    Single-Trip

Covers many expenses related to a medical emergency for visitors while in Canada, including:

    • Emergency medical attention
    • Ambulance transportation
    • Emergency medical return home
    • Expenses related to death
    • Paramedical services, like licensed physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists and more
    • Emergency dental treatment
    • And much more

You can choose from one of 5 maximum coverage amounts: $15,000; $25,000; $50,000; $100,000; or $150,000

    Trip Interruption

Add this option to the above coverage to help protect visitors from expenses related to the need to return home due to an unexpected event.

  • Students

Anything can happen during months away from home

If you or your child is preparing to study abroad, that means many months away from home. Medical coverage is important, not just in case of emergencies, but for more routine medical services as well. After all, when you’re a student, it’s especially important to protect the cost of tuition in the event that a medical emergency prevents you from completing a semester.

This plan is available for students studying in another province, or another country, and students from another country studying in Canada.

Coverage up to $2 million includes:

    Emergency Medical Benefits

    • Hospital expenses
    • Physician services
    • Diagnostic services
    • Ambulance transportation
    • Prescription drugs (up to a 30-day supply)
    • Paramedical services, like licensed physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists and more
    • Emergency dental treatment
    • And much more

    Wellness Benefits

Your PSHCP covers you for up to $500,000 in eligible emergency travel medical expenses. The coverage continues for up to 40 days after departure from your province of residence.

Consider Top Up coverage to add more coverage if you travel longer than 40 days.

Also consider non-medical coverage like Trip Cancellation & Interruption.

Please see the Frequently Asked Questions for details on eligibility.
